We join SCS because we believe that, due to polystyrene’s intrinsic properties, styrenics are perfectly suited to close the loop, allowing full recyclability. The work of SCS is instrumental in delivering on this potential, and our SCS membership is a natural progression of Repsol’s circularity strategy.
Our intent is to boost the new Circular Economy model by promoting a large amount of plastic waste, that currently goes to landfill, transforming it into new raw materials for our petrochemical processes.

Moreover, were finalists at the Chemplast Awards in one of the categories and were first-prize winners in another.
We are the first polyolefins producer to obtain the FSCC 22000 food safety certification in all our industrial complexes. In January 2018, we already obtained this certification for all plastic polymers produced at our Tarragona industrial site. The first ever granted to a polyolefin production center worldwide, which was later followed by our Puertollano and Sines complexes in December 2018 and March 2019, respectively.
Repsol, through its strategic investment fund, has acquired 17% of the Spanish company Recreus, dedicated to the production and marketing of flexible and rigid thermoplastic filaments for 3D-printing.
