Cookies Policy

This digital asset, property of Repsol, S.A., may use first and third-party cookies for statistical, analytical, and/or advertising purposes, as reported in the initial notification (first layer) that appears on your device when you first access the digital asset.

You can select the cookies to be installed depending on their purposes. If you have accepted them by mistake or have changed your mind about your initial selection, please refer to the last section of this policy, where you will find information on how to delete installed cookies from your browser.

Below you will find more details about cookies so you can make a well informed decision regarding their configuration.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that are installed on the user's device for the purpose of storing, retrieving, or updating information. The person responsible for a digital asset (web, mobile application, or similar) can use them to learn about the use and/or preferences of users when browsing their digital asset and/or customize the services offered based on those preferences in the digital assets where this functionality is available.

Please note that this Cookie Policy will apply to both the use of Cookies and similar technologies. We use the term "cookies" as they are a widely used technology, and this use includes both cookies in the strict sense and any other similar technology that involves the storage and retrieval of data on users' terminal equipment, such as, but not limited to, local storage (allowing data to be stored locally on your browser or device, including HTML5 local storage and browser cache), software development kits or SDKs": blocks of code that can be installed in mobile applications, pixels (small images on a web page/app or an email), or any other.

The information is collected in association with a browser or similar and specific device. This technology provides us with information that includes which page you have visited before, how long you have remained at our digital asset, and which sections you have visited. As such, depending on the cookie options you have accepted, if you visit and later revisit our digital asset, we may recognize you and offer you content and services of greater value and more in line with your preferences.

Cookies are used for different purposes. For example:

  • To perform analytics and collect metrics regarding the number of visits received by a digital asset.
  • To allow a user to move through a restricted-access area once they have entered their access codes.
  • To facilitate online shopping processes (cookies make it possible to remember each product added to the shopping cart).
  • To remember user preferences (language, font, etc.).
  • To obtain information about other pages visited and offer advertising based on these visits.

What kind of cookies do we use?

The type of cookies we use may vary depending on the digital asset with which you browse according to its type and purpose. We will inform you of each in the cookie configuration panel.

Depending on the entity that manages the computer or domain from which the cookies are sent, we can distinguish:

  • First-party cookies: These are the cookies sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the editor itself and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
  • Third-party cookies: These are cookies that are sent to the user's device from a computer or domain that is not managed by the publisher but by another entity that processes the data obtained through cookies.

You can see a list of third-party technologies that make use of cookies in our assets here.

Some of these installed cookies may involve international data transfers. We recommend that you consult the websites of these third parties to learn the details in each case.

Based on the purpose for which they are used, we use the following types of cookies:

  • Technical cookies: Allow users to browse a website, platform, or mobile application and correctly use the different options or services that exist there.
  • Preference or personalization cookies: Allow information to be remembered so that the user can access the service with certain characteristics that can differentiate their experience from that of other users.
  • Analytical cookies: Allow the monitoring and analysis of users' browsing behavior on websites, platforms, or mobile applications to which they are linked, including the quantification of the impacts of the advertisements.
In this case, we use third-party analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, which allow us to obtain aggregate statistics about the use of our digital assets, including information about how users interact with them on different devices.
For these purposes, we may use advanced features that allow you to associate browsing information from different devices when a user is logged in to their Google account and has ad personalization enabled. The information thus obtained is provided in an aggregated form and does not allow users to be directly identified.
  • Advertising cookies: Allow us to store information on user behavior obtained through the continuous observation of their browsing habits, letting us offer advertising through banners or similar mechanisms (that is, you will only see advertising online, since we will not have other mechanisms to contact you). In addition, in order to know the effectiveness of our advertisements, we use technologies such as "enhanced conversions" to obtain information about the users who contract our services, collecting identifying data and sharing it in an encrypted form with Google, TikTok, and Meta. You can find out more about these technologies at the following links: Google (here), Meta (here), and TikTok (here). If you are a registered user on any of our online services, the information collected by these cookies may also allow us to generate a profile based on your browsing habits and on information you have provided to us by other means.
We also use third-party tools, such as Google, that allow us to display personalized advertising and measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, taking into account aggregate information on the use of different devices.
In this case, we may use advanced features based on information from users who are logged into their Google account and have ad personalization turned on.
In addition to the cookie management carried out through this panel, users can deactivate ad personalization directly from their Google account (here), which will prevent their information from being used for these purposes. This option is available in your Google Ads settings.

How long do we store your data for?

The personal data collected through cookies will be kept solely and exclusively for the time necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the cookie has been installed, up to a maximum period of 14 months.

With regard to third-party cookies, their retention periods can be found in the parties respective privacy policies.

Once this period has elapsed and a cookie has expired, it can be reinstalled on the device if the user re-accepts its use.
