What data can be found in the energy yearbook?

This publication has been prepared by Repsol's Economic Research Department as a tool to aid in objective analysis, discussion, and debate on energy markets. 

It's an energy database with special emphasis on both the oil and natural gas sectors, as well as on electricity generation and sustainability indicators.

Energy sector trends 2024

These are the main insights derived from the figures and percentages mentioned, they reflect the most relevant trends and dynamics of the energy sector in recent years.

  • Sustained development of energy demand

    Primary energy consumption increased by 2.3% last year. ​Globally, oil dominates (29.3%), followed by coal (28.5%), and natural gas (22.9%).

    Renewable energy grew by 16%, representing 2.5% of the total.
