Corporate Venturing

Strengthening our commitment to Responsible Investment

Adherence to UNPRI principles

Since 2024, we have been a signatory of the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) promoted by the United Nations. This adherence reflects our commitment to ethical, responsible management aligned with Repsol's corporate values, such as sustainability, innovation, and respect for the environment.

As part of this commitment, we systematically integrate ESG factors into our investment process, from the initial assessment to the monitoring of startups in the portfolio. In addition, we promote transparency, accountability, and active dialogue with our investee companies.

What are the UNPRI Principles?

They are a set of six voluntary principles that provide a global framework for integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into investment decisions. By adhering to them, we commit to:

  1. Incorporate ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes.

  2. Be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices.

  3. Request appropriate disclosure on ESG issues from the entities in which we invest.

  4. Promote the acceptance and implementation of the Principles in the investment industry.

  5. Work collaboratively to improve effectiveness in implementing the Principles.

  6. Report on our activities and progress in implementing the Principles.

At Repsol Corporate Venturing, our purpose is to support startups that accelerate the energy transition and provide innovative solutions aligned with climate and sustainable development objectives.

We believe that technological innovation and commitment to sustainability must go hand in hand. That's why we integrate environmental, social, and good governance (ESG) criteria into our investment decisions, with the aim of generating a long-term positive impact for society and the environment.

Through our investments, we seek to be a catalyst for change towards a more sustainable future, aligning our efforts with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and actively contributing to the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
