We took part in the EU Green Week 2025 with our cross-cutting products
This week, we had the privilege of participating alongside Plastics Europe as partners in EUGreenWeek, the European Commission’s annual flagship event, under the theme “Innovating for Competitiveness: Driving a Circular and Sustainable European Plastics System.” It was an inspiring day, full of ideas, connections, and above all, a shared commitment to a more circular future.
At Repsol, we contributed with two projects that reflect our strong commitment to responsible innovation:
• Our lubricant containers, made with 60% post-consumer recycled plastic, are a clear example of how the circular economy can be turned into real and efficient solutions
• The LPG butane bottle, which incorporates 10% Repsol Reciclex® recycled material in its valve guard, demonstrates that even in the energy sector we can move toward circular products without compromising safety or functionality
During the event, Virginia Janssens, Managing Director of Plastics Europe, delivered a clear message: “The window of opportunity to restore our competitiveness and stimulate the necessary investment in circular infrastructure and innovation is narrow, and the time for bold policy action is now.”
At Repsol, we firmly believe that sustainability and competitiveness are not opposing goals, but complementary ones. That’s why we’re grateful for the opportunity to showcase our real-world solutions and to continue collaborating across the entire value chain to build a more circular, resilient, and competitive European plastics system.
