Committed to the circular economy together with the Armando Alvarez Group

Chemical News 10/09/2020

We work jointly with the Armando Alvarez Group (AAG) to develop circular solutions, through mechanical recycling, for flexible packaging not intended for food contact. Additionally, we have reached an agreement to market circular polyolefins certified under the ISCC Plus, from chemical recycling, for packaging suitable for food contact applications.

As a result of this alliance with AAG, the first easy-tear film material that incorporates recycled material from our Repsol Reciclex® range has been approved, thus becoming leading companies on the market and champions of the circular economy in packaging applications.

Also, we have established a commercial agreement between both companies to offer sustainable packaging suitable for food contact, using circular polyolefins from our Repsol Reciclex® range. In this way, together, we promote the circular economy in applications with high added value, and we make circular products available to final consumers.

This new alliance allows creating the necessary synergies to accelerate the implementation of circular solutions and make them available to society. With this partnership, we promote our firm intention to recycle the equivalent of 20% of our polyolefin production by 2030 and reinforce our objective, announced last December, of being a company with zero net emissions by 2050.
