Repsol Materials at Wire 2026: driving innovation and circularity in the cable sector
Our participation in Wire & Tube 2026 reinforces our position in the cable industry, showcasing innovations in circular materials, mechanical recycling, and solutions for industrial decarbonization.
Over five intense days, and under the theme “Best Quality, Better Planet,” we presented new developments and projects aimed at advancing circularity in the cable sector, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and technical performance. At this edition, we placed special emphasis on lower carbon footprint materials, with a particular highlight on our mechanical recycling solutions, which enable cable manufacturers to reduce their emissions without compromising performance.
We also continue to expand our circular economy portfolio with circular polyolefins derived from chemical recycling and bio-circular polyolefins produced from organic waste. Altogether, this forms a comprehensive, certified, and reliable portfolio that supports our customers in advancing their decarbonization goals, integrating quality, innovation, and sustainability into a single value proposition.
During the event, we shared with customers and partners the progress of our industrial projects and decarbonization strategies, including Project Alba, the investment in the new ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) plant in Puertollano, and the development of a new line of recycled plastics within the Repsol Reciclex® range. These initiatives will strengthen, over the medium and long term, our ability to offer circular materials for cable applications.
The strong market response to our solutions confirms the growing interest in products that combine high technical performance with environmental commitment, reinforcing our role as a key player in the transition toward a more circular cable industry.
