We unveil our comprehensive range of sustainable polyolefins for the cable industry

Chemical News 03/11/2023

All players in the cable industry are committed to designing products and solutions with lower environmental impact, which can reduce emissions in the production and use phases. To meet this objective, we offer the first comprehensive range of polyolefins that cater to the needs to improve the products' sustainability of our customers in the cable industry.

Reciclex BIO range cables

To complement our 42-grade multi-product range (mLLDPE, HDPE, LDPE, EVA, EBA, and PP) for cables, we launch bio-based and circular alternatives and three new grades incorporating mechanical recycling plastic waste content. The new materials in the Repsol Reciclex® range for cables not only reduce the carbon footprint but also help meet the growing demand for sustainable products.

The Repsol Reciclex® range will allow our clients to choose from:

  • Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and metallocene linear lowdensity polyethylene (mLLDPE) with mechanical recycled content ranging from 55% and 70% from post-consumer plastic waste (PCR) certified by the Recyclass standard.
  • Three ISCC Plus certified ranges:

o   100% circular polyolefins from chemical recycling.
o   First-generation bio-based polyolefins from sustainably sourced crops.
    o   Second-generation bio-circular polyolefins from organic waste.

With this comprehensive proposal, we offer our clients a fully certified and complete range of sustainable polyolefins.
