Our wide range of products, such as polyol, polypropylene, high and low density polyethylene, vinyl acetate copolymers (EVA) and butyl acrylate (EBA) addresses the stringent demands of the construction and infrastructures industry. Due to the use of polyurethane (based on polyols) to insulate buildings, especially in facades and roofs, energy consumption can be reduced by as much as 80%. It protects us from noise and adverse temperatures and this has a direct bearing on our comfort and well-being at home, providing better-quality rest and making our home feel more homely.
What if we told you that a 200-m2 house with properly insulated walls and roof could save up to 800 litres of fuel per year? That would reduce the energy bill by 40% and also contribute to reducing CO2 emissions. And all this while gaining in well-being.
Moreover, we mustn’t forget the role of polyols in protecting facades and interior surfaces or sealing varnishes, which are highly resistant to corrosion and the elements.
How do our products help you communicate better?
It’s hard to imagine, but chemicals also help improve our communications. How? Thanks to our Materials, especially polyethylene, polypropylene and EVA / EBA, the cables that enable our digital and electrical communications today are manufactured and protected. However, at Repsol we are concerned not only with present, but also future, needs. We are constantly conducting research on the protection of telecommunications cabling and today it is one of our strengths. In the area of high- and low-voltage cables, we work on insulation, semiconductor shields and coatings. So we aren’t forgetting some of the most heavily-demanded current and future needs.
Plastic pipes are corrosion-proof and guarantee water tightness throughout the network, thus preventing leaks, infiltration and exfiltration, as well as wastage of water, such a valuable natural resource.
In pipe and cable protection, Repsol offers a wide range of low, medium and high density polyethylene and polypropylene. Our products are approved by prestigious European organizations, meeting the most demanding requirements for maximum safety.
