Uses and properties
Propylene is a highly flammable gas which is colourless and non-toxic, with a naturally spicy smell. It is a product that is often obtained during the thermal cracking of different fuels such as naphtha and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas).
It is one of the most important chemicals in the industry since it is the raw material used for making:
- Propylene Oxide
- Polypropylene through a polymerization process.
