We sign new license agreement for our PO/SM and polyols technology in China
We entered into a new technology licensing agreement to build in China a propylene oxide (PO) and styrene monomer (SM) co-production plant, as well as two polyol plants.
With this agreement, we are licensing our PO/SM technology and polyols for the construction of new plants in China. Construction is planned in the Jiangsu province, one of China's seven strategic petrochemical hubs.
The plants will have an annual production capacity of 200,000 tonnes/year of propylene oxide (PO) and 450,000 tonnes/year of styrene monomer (SM) and two plants with an aggregated production capacity of 125,000 tonnes/year of polyether polyols.
We have a leading technology in the production of propylene oxide, styrene, and polyols. This agreement adds up to three previous technology licensing agreements in China since 2013.
Additionally, we plan to continue collaborating with this licensee in additional initiatives to strengthen Repsol’s positioning in the Chinese market.
