Our initiative to expand the Sines Industrial Complex in Portugal is planned to enter into operation in the second half of 2026. It represents a total investment of 657 million euros, the largest in Portugal in the last decade, and will incorporate a production capacity of 600 kta of fully recyclable polyolefins.
At the Puertollano Industrial Complex (Spain), we are launching a new Repsol Reciclex® unit, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025. With an investment of 26 million euros, this facility will have an annual production capacity of 25 kta of mechanically recycled polyolefins. The project reinforces our commitment to the circular economy.
We are shaping the future of high-performance materials with the construction of the first Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) plant in Spain, located at our Puertollano Industrial Complex. With a total investment of 105 million euros, this state-of-the-art facility will begin operating in the first half of 2026, with an annual production capacity of 15 kta. This "superpolymer" will have applications in demanding sectors such as medicine, aerospace, and industry.

We have redesigned the packaging for our 1L, 4L, and 5L lubricants using our advanced Repsol Reciclex® 70RX5203 compound — a ready-to-use high-density polyethylene.
Post-consumer recycled (PCR) material: 70%
This packaging:
- Maintains the same durability and performance as standard ones.
- Offers a technical and sustainable solution for the industrial sector.
This initiative showcases the power of cross-business collaboration between our Lubricants and Materials businesses.
The new valve guard is made with our Repsol Reciclex® RXI18AV413 polypropylene for NEL butane bottles.
Recycled content: 10 %
This valve guard:
- Protects the bottle’s valve.
- Ensures safe handling and transport.
- Meets the stringent mechanical and safety standards required for this key component.
It's a clear example of how collaboration between our Materials and Butane businesses can unlock circular solutions even for technical parts with strict safety requirements.
Together with Grupo Armando Álvarez, a leader in sustainable packaging, we have created circular packaging for individual tissues.
The packaging is made entirely from post-consumer recycled material and is fully recyclable. Our Repsol Reciclex® CIRC60RX3235G grade contains 60% PCR.
This project demonstrates how we turn waste into value by offering practical solutions that contribute to a circular economy.
We've developed a high-tenacity recycled strapping solution with Signode, a global leader in transport packaging.
The new strapping is made with our Repsol Reciclex® RXP33AA000 grade, a high-performance polypropylene compound.
Post-consumer recycled (PCR) material: 35%
This new design:
- Meets the most demanding standards in logistics and industrial packaging.
- Ensures safety and strength during transport and storage.
This project highlights how technical innovation drives circularity in industrial packaging.
We transform used cooking oil and end-of-life tires into circular and biocircular styrene for Repsol Reciclex®, enabling ELIX to produce ABS.
These resins are:
- Made with 100% chemically recycled content.
- ISCC PLUS certified.
- Suitable for high-performance applications such as medical devices, home appliances, automotive, and toys.
Since 2020, we have partnered with ELIX Polymers, a leading ABS resin manufacturer, to develop high-quality recycled materials that support a more circular future.
The bottles are made with Repsol Reciclex® CIRC6006L, a high-density polyethylene containing 100% recycled content from post-consumer plastic waste.
This material is ISCC PLUS certified, ensuring traceability and compliance with the highest food safety standards.
Thanks to this agreement, the bottles incorporate 30% chemically-recycled content.
This collaboration has positioned Lactalis Nestlé as a pioneer in integrating recycled plastic into its kefir product line, setting a new standard in the chilled dairy sector.
