Sorigué executes works over a surface area of 27,000 m2 with pigmented mixtures using Recofal-line synthetic binders

FIRCOLOR mixtures used for paving colored surfaces using Recofal S50 synthetic binder

In 2017, Firtec, a company belonging to the Sorigué Group, executed works spanning an area of approximately 27,000 m2 and using pigmented mixtures that employ synthetic binders that REPSOL markets under the Recofal brand.

FIRTEC, under the brand "FIRCOLOR," has developed mixtures which, with the use of Recofal S50 synthetic binder, makes it possible to manufacture mixtures that can be adapted to the surrounding area in special zones where color is an essential requirement. Pavements can be tinted with a wide range of colors or be left devoid of pigment, yielding a mixture color similar to that of the aggregate used and obtaining natural tones that blend with the surrounding area.

In addition to being easily tinted with pigments, other advantages of these binders include their uniformity for any type of mixture regardless of their particle size and their good resistance to aging and oxidation.

REPSOL markets pigmentable synthetic binders that can be applied in places such as bicycle lanes, sport tracks, and pavements in parks and gardens. Proof of this are the different works executed in such a unique place as Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona.

The different works executed include the following:

  • Laying of the FIRCOLOR mixture in orange on the roads of the Camping Sangulí campsite (Salou), covering an area of 5,000 m2.
  • Laying of FIRCOLOR in gray on Passeig de Gràcia (Barcelona), both on the pedestrian walkway and on the bicycle lane in the city center, covering an area of of 6,740 m2.
  • Paving of a road perfectly integrated into the surrounding area with FIRCOLOR Sauló, manufactured with a mixture without added pigments, in Passatge Enginyer Playà (Sabadell), covering an area of 3,200 m2.
  • Passeig Marítim Empuriabrava (Gerona): once again, an application of FIRCOLOR Sauló, with an extension of 12,000 m2 on the promenade. The pigmentability of RECOFAL enabled the manufacture of a mixture perfectly integrated with the promenade.
