Repsol and Toyota join forces to promote decarbonization in the automotive sector

The companies have signed a multi-technology collaboration agreement that includes electric charging solutions, power and gas, renewable fuels, solar panels, emissions offsetting, and energy efficiency for Toyota’s customers, dealerships, and employees in Spain.
Repsol and Toyota Spain have signed an agreement to jointly promote the decarbonization of transport and energy solutions in the automotive sector. This strategic alliance reinforces both companies' commitment to innovation, energy efficiency, and the mobility of the future.
The agreement covers the development of multi-technology projects, such as comprehensive electric charging solutions, power supply, renewable fuels, solar power generation, emissions offsetting, and energy efficiency measures.
One of the most significant initiatives in the agreement is the comprehensive solution for Toyota dealerships, which includes the supply of 100% renewable electricity, the installation and maintenance of solar panels, electric charging points, and the use of renewable fuels. With this, Toyota and Repsol are promoting the decarbonization and energy transformation of the manufacturer's commercial network in Spain.
In addition, by contracting the service with Repsol, customers will be able to benefit from discounts on their electricity bill and accumulate credit in Waylet, Repsol's loyalty app, which already has more than 9.7 million users and provides access to more than 7,000 charging points throughout the country.
As part of this collaboration, customers who purchase a Toyota electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle will be able to install a charging point in their home from €1,995, at a fixed price.
The alliance also includes initiatives such as the issuance of Energy Saving Certificates (CAE) and the development of emissions compensation projects, reinforcing both companies' shared commitment to reducing their carbon footprint.
Repsol has already been contracted to supply power and gas to Toyota's offices, as one of the first steps in implementing this collaboration. Repsol will also make its wide range of energy offerings available to Toyota for its buildings and official dealer network.

Repsol and Toyota: a partnership with a history in competition
In addition to the multi-technology agreement signed to promote the energy transition in the automotive sector, Repsol and Toyota have a long-standing relationship in the world of motor racing.
Both companies made history in the 1990s alongside the Spanish driver Carlos Sainz, winning two titles in the World Rally Championship (WRC) in 1990 and 1992. This year, they have resumed their collaboration in the WRC2 with the Toyota Gazoo Racing Spain team, backing drivers Alejandro Cachón and Borja Rozada at the wheel of a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2.
Repsol and Toyota have also been collaborating in the Dakar Rally since 2021, initially with driver Isidre Esteve and his Toyota Hilux T1+. This alliance has been strengthened in 2024 with the addition of the official Toyota Gazoo Racing team. In both projects, Repsol's renewable fuels play a key role, contributing to the performance and efficiency of the vehicles in the most demanding conditions of the competition.
