Repsol holds its 2016 Annual General Meeting

  • Repsol Chairman Antonio Brufau and CEO Josu Jon Imaz presented the review of 2015 and the highlights of the year so far.
  • Antonio Brufau highlighted the volatility of crude oil prices during 2015, and the changing role of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) by allowing market prices to be set according to supply and demand.
  • Brufau emphasized that the contribution of all energy sources will be necessary in the future energy mix. He underscored Repsol’s commitment to the sector’s objectives for the century: security of supply, competitiveness, accessibility, sustainability and universality.
  • Josu Jon Imaz presented to shareholders the Strategic Plan 2016-2020 and results from 2015, a year marked by Repsol’s strength and resilience in the face of low crude oil and gas prices.
  • With its strategy until 2020, Repsol will emphasize value-extraction from the growth obtained from the achievement of its previous Strategic Plan’s goals.
  • The CEO highlighted the importance of Repsol’s integrated business model and the excellent performance of the company’s businesses, as seen in 2015 and in the first quarter of 2016.
  • At the Annual General Meeting, Isidro Fainé’s term was renewed for an additional four years and Gonzalo Gortázar was appointed to the Board of Directors was ratified, also for a four year term.
