During the virtual event, Feique, Plastics Europe Spain, and AIMPLAS showed the report "Chemical Recycling in Spain: Betting on a circular future". The information is the first that analyzes the chemical recycling situation and its implementation degree in Spain. It also gives a future perspective, considering the relevant business investments already announced for the development of this technology.

The session also had the roundtable: "Innovations for a circular future" where different companies' representatives discussed chemical recycling initiatives that are already underway, the benefits that this technology incorporation is having on its products, and the impact it is having on the value chain.

Our colleague Gabriela Superchi, Senior Business Development Manager, was in charge of representing Repsol and offered a vision of chemical recycling technologies, especially gasification with the Ecoplanta project, and how this contributes to the Circular Economy and progress towards our goal of zero net emissions for 2050. In the words of Gabriela Superchi “This project offers a solution to urban solid waste that, thanks to gasification, does not end up in landfills. It is important to emphasize that this technology produces a synthesis gas from which we will manufacture circular methanol, which will increase circularity in the chemical industry.”
