The decarbonization of the aeronautical sector
Travelling on a commercial flight that emits 90% less CO2 into the atmosphere? It's now possible.
The aviation sector moves decisively towards decarbonization through the use of biofuels
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is committed to ensuring that aviation does not increase carbon emissions from 2020 and achieves climate neutrality by 2050, for which it is developing various initiatives, among which the use of different sustainable fuels, such as biofuels and advanced biofuels produced from waste, stands out for its high contribution to CO2 reduction.
Strategic alliances to achieve the decarbonization of the sector
In 2021, we continued advancing in the commercialization of our sustainable fuel, biojet, for the aviation sector, by partnering with relevant groups such as IAG. Iberia and Vueling have already made the first flights with our biojets in Spain, reducing C02 emissions up to 90%.
