Greece is considered one of the countries with the greatest energy potential in southern Europe. The seas surrounding the country include the Sea of Crete to the south, the Aegean Sea to the east, and the Ionian Sea to the west, while it is bordered by Albania, the Republic of North Macedonia, and Bulgaria to the north.

Our activity in Greece

We have been operating in Greece since 2017, where we own mineral rights to two onshore exploration blocks with a net surface area of 5,124 km2. In 2017, we announced the agreement to operate the blocks Ioannina and Aitoloakarnania, located in the western-most zone of the Balkan Peninsula and with a combined surface area of 8,540 km2. In 2018, we were awarded the offshore exploration block Ionian, where we hold a 50% working interest alongside the national company Hellenic. To date, this adjudication is awaiting approval by the country’s authorities.
