Wax emulsions for active food packaging
The EMULACTIVE C-1 series of emulsions is especially designed to be used as coatings for active packaging within the food industry, for which reason they comply with the FDA Regulations and the Codex Alimentarius for products that come in contact with food. 
These emulsions are applied on paper or cardboard boxes and thanks to their composition based on natural oils (Cinnamon series), they prevent the proliferation of pathogens, thereby extending the life and ripeness of the food stored in those containers, for all types of fruit, vegetables, pastries, etc.
 
EMULACTIV C-1 is formulated based on a carefully selected mixture of paraffins treated to guarantee, at the same time, the highest waterproof performance. The selected package of surfactants used to emulsify these paraffins has been selected to ensure product stability during both transport and handling.  
 
EMULACTIV C-1 is also characterised by showing an excellent moisture barrier effect, great coverage capacity, great stability for handling and storage, good resistance to hard water and low migration. EMULACTIV C-1 is especially suitable for coating paper to wrap food and/or cardboard boxes to transport food such as fruits and vegetables, as well as for contact with bread and bakery products.
 
It is applied in the same fashion as traditional paraffin emulsions used in the paper and/or cardboard industries.
