Committed to our employees

Our more than 25,000 employees across the globe are part of a diverse, committed team of experts, who represent our company's prime competitive advantage.
We have an integrated People Management Policy that is in keeping with the company’s vision and culture. Our values are integrity, responsibility, transparency, flexibility, and innovation, based on respect and a sense of anticipation, which help us to create trusting relationships with our employees and boast a high level of talent retention.
Our people management is based on our team's commitment to fulfilling our strategic objectives and aims to coordinate the company’s needs in the short, medium, and long-term while providing employees with opportunities for professional development. This is based on the following principles:

Alignment with our culture and values

  • We view diversity as a distinguishing element that gives us a competitive edge thanks to a staff of people of different origins, age, gender, skills, etc.
  • We encourage the evolution of new work methods to achieve an increasingly flexible working environment that fosters collaborative work and adapts to the new needs and lifestyles of the societies in which we operate.
  • We value, promote, and facilitate personal and professional work-life balance through mechanisms such as: telework, flexible working hours, dual careers, etc. In this regard we have become sector leaders and we are considered one of the best places to work in Spain. We have also defined a global minimum work-life flexibility regime that exceeds local legislation in many countries where we operate and provides standard levels of protection for employees, particularly for those in situations of maternity and paternity, breast-feeding, marriage, and official registration as a common-law couple, etc.
  • We are committed to the integration of people with disabilities, promoting a model of social coexistence, commitment, and solidarity.
  • We endeavor to improve the health, well-being, and safety of people through programs and actions that focus on preventing occupational hazards, actively promoting health and implementing healthy lifestyles and habits.
  • We promote Corporate Volunteering among our employees and the people who live in the areas where we operate, to help create a better social climate.
  • We encourage dialogue, active listening, the use of collaborative environments, and systems for sharing suggestions and ideas.
  • We know that information must be managed responsibly and transparently and we promote initiatives that aim to turn the personal knowledge of our team into shared knowledge.

  • We identify the company's needs along with the skills, potential, and interests of employees, to plan their careers in the short, medium, and long-term so that our organization always has the most suitable profiles.
  • We use a global business culture in our recruitment and selection processes, using the recruitment sources and the market approach most suited to the professional profiles required at any given time.

Rewarding talent

  • Our compensation schemes are aimed at attracting, retaining, and motivating our employees, in addition to increasing their commitment. They guarantee both external competitiveness and internal equality.
  • We have performance evaluation systems that allow us to encourage and recognize both individual merit as well as cooperation and collective effort.
  • We provide competitive social benefits in all areas, many of which are designed to complement social services systems (healthcare, retirement, etc.).

Training and development

Our Corporate Learning Center acts as a strategic base to help us achieve our corporate objectives by promoting, attracting, developing, and retaining the talent of current and future Repsol employees. The CLC was created in 2008 with the aim of becoming Repsol's internationally renowned space for learning, innovation, and excellence to assist its employees and strategic partners in the implementation of our company's plans. This center manages the company's training processes in an integrated manner and is a tool to promote and assist the professional and personal development of Repsol's professionals as part of its commitment to build a better future.
In 2015, the CLC's role as a Corporate University was recognized with the CLIP Certificate, which was granted by the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development), an international organization that groups together more than 800 organizations from the academic, business, and consulting sectors in over 81 countries. Repsol is the fourth Spanish company to be granted this prestigious certificate, which has only been awarded to 17 companies worldwide. Our company is the first Spanish energy company to earn this recognition.
