The Service Stations with Solred DKV. The diesel service.

DKV offers you as a customer of Solred DKV a network of more than 14,000 Service Stations across Europe, Morocco and Turkey. This extensive network includes a wide range of oil companies across Europe. Solred has also published a comprehensive country by country guide with information on services, location etc.

Furthermore, Solred and DKV have also designed a series of maps, indicating the best located Service Stations with the most competitive prices on the market.

Which European Service Stations are the most highly recommended?

In France, there are a wide range of brands: Total, Fina, BP, Agip, Elf, Esso, etc. at more than 2,200 Service Stations situated both on and off motorways. It is advisable to refuel off the motorway, except with Total, as virtually all brands charge more on motorways.

In Luxembourg, with 50 Service Stations, it is advisable to refuel in Berchem, Wasserbillig and Capellen because of its location and lower refuelling prices. DKV Service Stations are always available without having to leave the motorway.

In Germany where there are over 4,700 Service Stations, prices vary depending on the area. Stations located on motorways are more expensive than Truck Stops, which in turn are more expensive than Stations located off the motorway.

In Italy it is advisable to use the AGIP or IP network.Whereas TEXACO is the most highly recommended in Belgium.

DKV choses the best Service Stations across Europe, according to price and quality, and updates its information on a weekly basis. It researches prices in Germany, Austria, Italy, France etc

They are situated at the entrance to German motorways, on the motorways themselves and on the outskirts for all heavy vehicles with a total weight above 12 tns.German vouchers are also valid in Belgium, Holland, Luxemburg, Denmark and Sweden. The vouchers cover charges made on all toll paying motorways in Germany (except the A6/E50 and 5/E35). They are valid for a day, a week, a month or a year. This is not applicable for coaches. Long term vouchers can be obtained by faxing DKV.

Austria- On the Brenero, Tauern, Phyrn motorways and the Arlberg and Karwanken tunnels.
StraBag /motorway sticker: When on the motorway, vehicles weighing less than 12 tns require a sticker which is valid for weeks, 2 months or one year. Vehicles weighing more than 12 tns require a special voucher (Strabag) which is valid for days, weeks, months or a whole year. In general, buses normally belong to this group.

Eco Tag: Vehicles weighing less than  7,5 tns have an ecological point system. In order to register the points you have accumulated, you can place an electronic apparatus on your front windscreen to register the data. This apparatus can be installed and paid for with your DKV card.

Switzerland- Tax for heavygoods vehicles linked to particular features (LSVA).
Starting on January 1st 2001, heavygoods vehicles will have to pay this tax on all public roads. This affects lorries and trailers weighing over 3.5 tns. A global charge will be imposed on coaches. This compulsory contribution is applicable upon entry into Switzerland and ends when leaving the country. The charge is calculated according to the maximum weight allowed for the vehicle or group of vehicles, as well as emissions and the total mileage.

When entering Switzerland for the first time, there is a "LSVA registration form" which you must hand in at customs' with the original and a photocopy of the vehicle´s licence and a gas emissions certificate in order to receive a vehicle ID card with essential data on it (number plates, vehicle owner´s address, maximum weight etc).
Once you have received your card, you must manually insert your mileage, the trailer´s details and your planned route in LSVA terminals when re-entering the country. By introducing your Solred-DKV card, you decide your means of payment. When leaving, you must fill in a receipt, including your new mileage and your signature.
When paying the tax in cash, the customs authorities charge a commission of 10 Swiss Francs for the emission of a receipt. However, Solred- DKV card holders are exempt from this.

To obtain a Viacard, Solred clients must fill in a series of documents.Your formal application can begin once you have returned these to Solred.

All transactions carried out with Viacard will appear once a month on your DKV bill.  Customers will also receive a detailed list of all the toll points passed, as well as all the locations where the card(s) was/were used and a taxation certificate. This will happen every month in order for you to receive your VAT return from the Italian Finance Ministry.

How can I recover my VAT from payments abroad? Net Invoicing Program.

DKV offers the Net Invoicing Program via TVR,  a company specially designed to recover VAT for European companies.

The VAT will be paid in the same monthly DKV invoice, subtracting TVR's commission from the total amount, always provided that the VAT is recovered from DKV's own invoices.
The recovered amount that does not belong to DKV transactions will be credited each quarter in a DKV invoice.
