Receipt of samples
Receipt and handling of samples in the laboratory
The samples and cards received are registered in the laboratory. The samples are then classified and entered in the system by means of a bar code reader, while the information on the card is entered via an application that automates the process, based on data from previous samples.
The fundamental analyses in this system have been defined as follows:
- Oil properties: viscosity (100ºC), TBN and detergency.
- Metal pollutants: aluminium, copper, chrome, tin, iron, manganese, nickel, silver, lead and vanadium.
- Pollutants: water, dilution, carbonaceous material, insolubles, silicon and sodium.
- Other metals: barium, boron, calcium, phosphorus, zinc and magnesium.
