2009 REPSOL AGRICULTURAL CONFERENCE

Presided by the Executive Director of Marketing Europa, Mr. Pascual Olmos Navarro, Repsol hosted this event in the Repsol Technology Centre. A significant representation of important members of the Spanish countryside and agriculture were present, including Vicente Alberto from TRAGSA and the former minister of Agriculture, Javier Cantos from UTECO, Fernando Marcen from COOP. AGROALIMENTARIAS, Francisco Pons, president of AVE and Federico Félix, president of FEDACOVA.

The aim of the Repsol Agricultural Conference was to raise awareness within the Spanish agricultural sector of the various activities, products and services that Repsol develops and provides for our countryside.

Following the presentation made by Pascual Olmos on the company’s main highlights, making particular emphasis on Repsol’s vocation in innovation and the commitment to share Repsol’s achievements and advances with its customers, themes of great importance to the sector were dealt with by each of the speakers. These included the Agrodiesel e+10 fuel (designed especially for farming machinery), the active container (a new container concept for transporting fruits and vegetables, which increases food preservation) and the food section in Spanish Service Stations, concluding with the issue of fortifying oil, a biodegradable oil which is effective on pest plagues.

To conclude, the various technologies applied in the Repsol Technology Centre were presented.
 
Following the presentations, a visit was made to the different laboratories and the Repsol Technology Centre greenhouse.

This kind of initiative in a response to the effort that Repsol is continually making to offer the best products and services, searching for concrete solutions for each of the Spanish strategic markets. This kind of conference shall be organised for other strategic sectors of our economy, in the same vein: INNOVATION, directed towards results.
