Vessels restriction requirements

1. Vessel must have been properly cleared and accepted by PETRONOR in accordance with the appropriate lifting procedure.

2. Vessel must keep informed the Terminal given proper notices through the ship's Agent or directly to the Terminal by fax: 94.636.53.32.

  • Petronor Terminal will notify to the Authorities and ship's Agent the Vessel's assigned berth.
  • Master will "always" follow the Pilots instructions to proceed to the berth.

3. Vessel must be in good state of repair and all equipment properly functioning prior  to proceeding to berth. Vessel must be presented in every respect ready to load  product at temperature and pressure in accordance with notice. Vessel will not be permitted to inert tanks while at berth without approval of Terminal Representative. It is not the policy of the Terminal to permit inerting while alongside a berth, and in most cases the Vessel will not be permitted to berth or will be asked to go to the outside anchorage if berthed.

4. Vessel will not be acceptable for loading unless the tanks to be loaded and ship's piping are free of any liquid or vapour which would knowingly contaminate or degrade the product. Vessel must be accepted by the Independent Inspector of the cargo. Terminal assumes no responsibility for cleanliness of ship's tanks for loading.

5. Vessel must fit physical configuration of the Jetty and must be able to receive product at normal loading rates, pressures and temperatures as for average vessels of similar size and service. Loading restrictions due to vessel condition or equipment  will be accounted for and deducted from any demurrage claim.

6. Vessel having emergency shutdown valves which slam shut instantaneously must  lock open valves or adjust same to a reasonable closing rate to prevent excessive damaging surge pressures. Loading rates will be reduced to a safe calculated rate depending on ship's valve closure times. If loading rate is greatly reduced because of valve conditions of the Vessel, additional laytime will be allowed to the Terminal.

7. Vessels of a different design as: chemical tankers, oil/bulk/ore or oil/ore type will only be accepted for loading if all the following relevant conditions are satisfied, in addition to complying  with all other port/terminal regulations which may be in existence at the time.

  • Vessel must have capability to discharge any contaminated segregated ballast ashore or may keep it on board with consequent reduction in cargo capacity.
  • Vessel to be fully manned to the standard demanded by the flag of the ship's country of registry. Staff to be fully conversant with the change over procedures. Senior staff to be thoroughly proficient in the carriage of bulk liquids. Vessel to have been engaged in the carriage of oil within the past two months.
  • Vessel to ensure that its decks are fully clear of all previous dry cargo spillings.
  • All oil loading and ballasting systems such pipework, valves, gauging system, inert gas systems, to have been properly tested. All tank accesses which may come under oil pressure to be proved tight. Any access not proved tight must not be put under pressure during loading at PETRONOR Terminal.

8. Vessels direct from "lay up" will not be acceptable for loading at PETRONOR Terminal, unless the Vessel has undergone maintenance to cargo handling equipment, and all equipment tested satisfactorily.

9. Vessels must comply with IMO / Solas - Marpol Regulations; OCIMF / SIGTTO and CEE Directives 1981 and October 5th 1.993.
