Telecommunication cables
The word cable refers to the elements of a telephone installation made up of a variable number of metal or glass fibre conductors that facilitate transmission of electrical and optical signals.
Cables are classified in three groups according to their composition:
The denomination symmetrical or asymmetrical pairs corresponds to the behaviour of the conductor regarding the ground or the metal shield of the cover, and not to the arrangement of the elements of the cable.
