Repsol YPF starts up new polymer polyol unit in Tarragona
Last December, Repsol YPF successfully completed the start up of its new 20,000 tons Polymer Polyol plant, located in Tarragona and integrated in its world scale PO/SM and Derivatives chemical complex.
With this addition, Repsol YPFs overall Polymer Polyol capacity reaches 35,000 tons, with over 40% polymer concentration, product that can be blended down to any concentration required by the market.
The new unit, based on Repsol YPF own proprietary continuous SAN copolymerisation process, uses the most advanced technology to achieve the highest elimination of residual monomers from the final product. As a result, this unit offers the Polyurethane industry, the Polymer Polyols with the lowest content in volatile compounds of the market, thus ensuring compliance with the most rigorous environmental requirements.
