High Transparency Homopolymer

The Chemicals division of Repsol YPF introduces a new speciality, in its line of polypropylene. The new Isplen®: PP 099 X2M. Within the range of polypropylene homopolymers, it has a special, high fluidity, improved transparency. A product, with a view to improving our customers competitiveness in the packaging market, in fields such as DVDs, foodstuffs, etc.

Repsol YPF Chemicals produces and sells under the brand name Isplen® more than 400,000 tonnes of a wide range of polypropylenes: homopolymers, heterophasic and random copolymers atactic, as well as reinforced polypropylene compounds.
Isplen® PP 099 X2M polypropylene is a new, highly transparent product, with extraordinary fluidity, aimed at injection moulding applications.
It presents a new generation and structural configuration which endows it with properties that were unknown in these materials until now. Its outstanding features are:

• High transparency.
• Excellent gloss.
• High rigidity.
• Improved productivity: magnificent processability (reduces the manufacturing cycle) and a reduced tendency to deform.
• Easy to inject: in standard injection machines at a wide range of temperatures (210º C  250ºC) depending on wall thickness, part geometry and other design parameters.
• Excellent chemical resistance.
• Different colouring systems can be readily used.     

Isplen® PP 099 X2M polypropylene is designed for use in aesthetically pleasing, rigid packaging for high consumption markets where its optical qualities can be readily appreciated: Multimedia packaging: DVDs, computer games, CD-R... Laboratory equipment: syringes, pipettes, dosers/droppers... Thin-walled domestic packaging.
