Open Days

The Puertollano and Tarragona Repsol YPF Chemical Complexes are holding Open Days. At these popular Open Days, employees and their family members, neighbours of the Complexes and school pupils are invited to discover the plants. Visitors can directly appreciate the products manufactured and what they are used for.
 
In January, the Management Board of the Spanish Chemical Industry Business Federation (FEIQUE) approved the involvement of the Spanish Chemical Industry in the 1st European Year of Open Doors in the Chemical Sector, an initiative promoted by the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) to be held between April 2002 and October 2003, in which most Western European countries would be involved. The Puertollano Industrial Complex is holding its Open Days from 14 May to 18 June. In Tarragona, visits are held during the months of April and May and are coordinated by the EQT, the Association which unites the area’s Chemical Industry. After visiting the Chemical Complex, the groups can find the Everything is Chemistry Exhibition in Tarragona.

Without doubt, this is an interesting initiative in which visitors can witness that safety and protection for health and the environment are more than just words. There are systems, methods and practices which are applied when designing a product, building a plant and making it operate, and they can see that the staff receives proper training. As such, the Repsol YPF Chemicals department can explain the guidelines entailed in the Commitment to Progress Programme.
