Repsol YPF began its fuel marketing operations in the Peruvian aeronautical sector in June 2001, as a result of the privatisation of the Jorge Chávez International Airport of Lima, in which the Lima Airport Partners (LAP) consortium, composed by the companies Frankfurt-Bechtel-Cosapi, was awarded the Special International Public Tender for the concession of the aforementioned airport on 15 November 2000.
Since then, Repsol YPF has been marketing the Jet A-1 aviation fuel produced in the La Pampilla Refinery, the country's main refinery, which has been operative since 1996, complying with Repsol YPF's high refining standards. The quality of our Jet A-1 fuel has been acknowledged through the renewal of the certification of its quality management system under the ISO 9001:2000 standard, awarded by the prestigious institution Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance.
Repsol YPF's recognised experience, the quality of its fuel and services on a worldwide scale, has turned us into the leading company in the aviation sector in Peru, achieving a market share of over 50% in a short period, as well as an important and diversified client portfolio.
The position that has been attained has allowed us to have the most important airlines operating in Peru among our clients.
