For years, Repsol has been collaborating with the aviation world by backing foundations which aim towards preserving aeronautical heritage.

Fundación Infante de Orleans (F.I.O)

The Fundación Infante de Orleans was created in 1989 in order to bring together the largest collection of aeroplanes that have played a prominent role in the development of Spanish aeronautics. A hangar was adapted for this purpose at Cuatro Vientos airport and the museum was inaugurated in 1990 as a permanent location for exhibitions and information.

This collection comes to life once a month when the air show takes place. It is a good opportunity to contemplate these relics from the past in perfect flying condition.

At present, the collection is composed of 40 planes of different models that represent over 60 years of Spanish aeronautical history; 32 of these are in perfect flying condition. The others are currently being restored. Certain models are unique in the world and all of them have contributed a great deal to the development of Spanish aviation.
