The gas cylinder is the receptacle containing, in liquid form, the butane or propane gas. As it moves into your appliance (kitchen, heating, stove, etc.), this liquid becomes a gas. The cylinder valve should have a rubber gasket on the end to ensure it is properly connected to the regulator.

The regulator reduces the pressure of the gas inside the cylinder to a level which adapts to your appliances.

The flexible tube joins the cylinder and regulator to your gas system or directly to your appliance. It has an expiry date.
