In addition to the advantages listed in the sections on compression and absorption systems, in which it is demonstrated that both absorption and compression systems are capable of meeting cooling requirements and providing an excellent performance, it is also worth highlighting the use of propane gas as an energy source, as, in comparison with other conventional options, it provides great competitive advantages, such as: 



  • High heating capacity.
  • Clean combustion with little pollution.
  • Simple and economical system maintenance and equipment with a longer life span.
  • It provides a continuous supply and is very reliable.
  • It can be immediately converted to other clean forms of energy, such as natural gas.
  • It prevents high electrical consumption rates in peak seasons. 

Compression and absorption systems that use propane gas can be of interest in buildings with a high number of annual operating hours, as they considerably reduce the time taken to recoup the investment, especially when situated in the climatic areas of the interior of the Spanish peninsula, with a continental climate which entails a high rate of consumption in heating in winter and in cooling in the summer, particularly as the transitory seasons (spring and autumn) are practically nonexistent. Moreover, the exteme climate reduces the period during which free cooling (air conditioning which is free, as it only involves air renewal) can be used.
