Since 1990, air polluting emissions have lowered considerably in Europe. Nevertheless, since 1997, the concentration of particles and ozone in the atmosphere has not shown any significant improvement.
In Europe, a considerable proportion of the population lives in cities which do not meet desired air quality requirements in terms of protecting human health. As such, the need to reduce atmospheric pollution continues to be a large problem.
Autogas is an immediate solution to helping reduce pollution in cities, given that, compared to traditional fuels, NOx emissions can be lowered by more than 68%, it does not emit measurable particles and it helps reduce the formation of tropospheric ozone, which causes breathing illnesses (asthmatic conditions), allergies, irritation of the eyes and migraines.
