Cooling
Cooling is one of the propane applications with the greatest potential, as climatic conditions lead to air conditioning systems being installed in many homes.
Obtaining a healthy and comfortable environment requires being able to control five air properties or characteristics:
- Temperature
- Humidity content
- Air velocity
- Purity
- Ventilation
Until now, gas cooling systems have not been widespread, mainly due to their high cost; the equivalent electrical systems are more economical and the difference in fuel price only justifies the overinvestment in specific situations.
Finally, it should be highlighted that some cooling units allow for reverse operation, acting as heat pumps to provide heating. This function is of particular interest in gas systems, as the heat coming from the combustion engine's cooling system can be used as heat output.
