What you should do if you smell gas
Do not touch any switches or electrical appliances.
Do not light any matches or lighters, and do not smoke.
Open doors and windows to ventilate the building.
Turn off all appliances and the mains.
Call a gas fitter to check and repair the appliance
Do not turn the mains on again until the faulty installation or appliance has been repaired.
