How to save energy

You can easily use some simple energy saving measures in your home.

In the kitchen:

  • Do not allow the flames of the gas ring to flicker around the bottom of the saucepans.
  • Cover all pots and pans, it makes cooking faster.
  • If you install a glass-ceramic hob, remember that those that run on gas are fitted with energy-saving zones which, without any additional cost, keep your plates hot, allow you to cook on a low temperature, etc.

In your heating system:

  • Allow the sun to enter your home.
  • If you have an individual heating system, set a comfort temperature using the thermostat and the timer.
  • If you do not have an individual system, do not open the windows if you are too hot; turn off the radiators instead.
  • Do not block the radiators with furniture, curtains, etc.
  • Do not use the radiators to dry clothes.
  • Fit the doors and windows properly using an insulator.
  • If possible fit double windows or, at least double glazing.
  • Adjust the thermostat of your heater or boiler.

In your water heater:

  • If you let the water overheat, you will have to mix it with cold water when using the bath, shower, etc., which will lead to waste.
  • The majority of dishwashers can be connected to the hot water tube, heated by the gas heater. This will allow you to avoid using electricity to heat water and save you both time and money.
  • Some washing machines can also be connected to the hot and cold water, with similar savings.
