Special emulsion for cold recycling
The emulsion ECL-2 Rejuv, specially developed by Repsol for cold recycling, is an over-stabilized emulsion, formulated with rejuvenating binders, which complies with the Pliego de Prescripciones Técnicas (Tecnical Specification Document) for emulsions of the type ECL-2b.This product is designed specifically for each project and replaces the components that have been lost from the bitumen of the existing road surface due to ageing, giving it back its original characteristics.
Repsol has wide experience in the use of this emulsion with rejuvenators, having obtained excellent results in all its applications with regard to recycling.
This special emulsion gives the mixture an excellent initial cohesion, allowing the road to be opened to traffic within a very short period of time, without the need to add a protective coat, as the recycled layer is able to withstand the traffic during the curing period without the immediate need to lay a wearing course, which also improves the safety conditions for road traffic as it prevents the projection of particles.
