New Honda VFR: the new generation arrives

Copy Motesa Honda

Next year, 2009, seems to be the year chosen by the Japanese Honda firm for the start of the new generations of some models to reach the market, this is the case of the Honda VFR 800. This new generation would see a 5 cylinder Honda engine with a larger displacement than on the previous model mounted on it, the unit growing up to 990cc.

2009 will be a special year and one of commemoration for Honda since the Japanese firm will be celebrating its 60th birthday, and that is why without a shadow of doubt 2009 has been chosen for the appearance of new models and others that will have been revamped, important models like the new VFR. This is a motorbike that will be completely overhauled - not only the engine but the chassis, new as well, and the electronics too.

Referring to the changes that will be made to the new VFR, the bike will get a new 5 cylinder engine unit with a displacement of 1 000cc and which will have a peak power of around 150bhp. It is possible that after this revamping the VFR will use a double clutch system that the company has been working on for some time now, as well as a new exhaust system placed under the engine. The chassis will also be remodelled so as to become an aluminium one in two parts, a front section and a rear one joined by the engine itself.

Everything points to the motorbike being put on the market next year with the name being the VFR 1000, with Honda`s vision being to strengthen the sportinng nature of the company`s products.
