Pingüinos 2009: the great winter biker weekend opens its doors
Puente de Duero in the province of Valladolid is hosting the great Spanish biker meet this weekend, one of the most important anywhere in Europe during the winter period. The organisers of the 28th edition of Pingüinos have forecast that around 30 000 motrbike riders will be in Valladolid this weekend, more or less the same figure as in previous years.
One of the novelties at this year`s edition of Pingüinos is the commemorative pin-badge that is being given to those participating in the meet`s activities. This year the Puente de Duero Town Hall is one of the stars of the show as it is celebrating its centenary. Moreover the mayor of Valladolid has welcomed all the participants in the Pingüinos 2009, extending a warm welcome to all bikers that have travelled to Valladolid to take part in the Pingüinos 2009 event this weekend in a letter.
The organisers of Pingüinos have done some very hard work in recent years so that this weekend the winter biker meet par excellence has become something of a tradition, and stronger and stronger down the years.
