March saw another fall in the sales of motorbikes and mopeds. According to the data released by the Asociación Nacional de Empresas del Sector de Dos Ruedas - National Association of Companies in the Two-wheel Sector - a total of 8 788 units were registered last March.
This figure is a drop of 20.86% compared to the same period back in 2011. This latest sales result, together with the sales figures from Jannuary and February mean that the aggregate figure for the year is 20 796 units. 17.25% lower than in the same quarter back in 2011.
Sales of mopeds reached 1 389 units in March, which is 22.32% more than in the same period last year. The aggregate for the first three months of the year show a fall of 20.22%.
The quad, ATV and UTV niche also fell, by 33.3% in March with just 174 vehicles registered. The aggregate for the first quarter of 2012 in this niche shows a fall of 30.79% compared to 2011.
