The Salón del Automóvil de Barcelona looking good

The most recent rumours concerning the Barcelona Motor Show spoke of a possible suspension in 2009, but the reality is quite different as the organisers say that the number of requests from firms wanting to participate has never been higher. A total of 53 companies have asked to be present at the Barcelona Show in May.

The 2009 edition of the Salón del Automóvil de Barcelona seems to have got back on track as the organisers have announced that there has been a record number of firms wanting to be at the event that will be held next May. One of the keys to this turnaround is without a doubt the fact that Anfac, the Asociación Nacional de Fabricantes de Automóviles y Camiones – National Association of Car and Truck Manufacturers, has confirmed that it will attend.

The organisers of the event also place great importance on sponsorships as they are crucial when it comes to the organisation of this type of event. The installations and conditions that all sponsors have available to them at the Barcelona Show is helping their number to continue growing. According to the organisers the one million visitors forecast to attend this year`s edition is great encouragment for manufacturers and sponsors, above all when the current economic situation is not the most suitable for this type of show.

From now until May the organisers of the Salón del Automóvil de Barcelona have to decide how to distribute the approximately 45 000 square metres that the stands will occupy to the different participating companies. The total surface area, including the exterior tracks for tests and exhibitions will be around 250 000 square metres.
