A date has now been set for the XIII edition of the Salón del Vehículo de Ocasión in this year`s calendar of motor show events and once again the setting is the Ifema Exhibition Centre in Madrid. The doors to this event will open on 29th May, and the Ifema will see a collection of semi-new and second hand vehicles all waiting to get another chance on the roads.
The organisers of the event have now confirmed that the Ifema will become the headquarters for car dealers from all over the country and will offer a wide range of semi-new and second hand vehicles from 29th May to 7th June. The Asociación Nacional de Vendedores de Vehículos a Motor, Reparación y Recambios – National Association of Motor Car Dealers, Repair Workshops and Spares – which promotes this event, guarantees that all vehicles on show have passed their corresponding checks and services, carried out by qualified professionals.
The Salón del Vehículo de Ocasión will take place at a perfect time for many dealers, who in addition to putting second hand vehicles on show will have a great opportunity to decrease the high levels of stock that have built up during the crisis. The large numbers of unsold cars are now causing big problems for the different manufacturers. And so the public will have a wider range of vehicles than is normal to choose from, both second-hand and semi-new.
The current economic situation in the motoring sector, which is closely linked to the global financial crisis, is a ray of hope for the organisers of the event as they see the timing of the show as pefect for car sales. During the 2008 edition 2 218 cars were sold, this was 60% of the total number of vehicles put on show and the event attracted more than 48 129 people.
