Spill management

The largest number of spills in the oil and gas industry occur during exploration and production activities. In 2010, the quantity of hydrocarbon spilled was reduced by 7% with respect to 2009, although the number of spillages increased by 22%. Without taking into account spillages caused by acts external to the company, the quantity spilled and the number of spillages increased by 18% and 26% respectively.
