
In 2002 we joined the United Nations' Global Compact, an initiative aimed at encouraging companies to adopt ten principles related to human rights, work conditions, the environment and the fight against corruption as an integral part of their strategy and operations. We also form part of the local Global Compact networks of Spain (Red Española del Pacto Mundial), Argentina (Grupo Promotor del Pacto Global en Argentina) and Bolivia.

The company is a founding member of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). Founded in 2003, the initiative promotes a framework of transparency between companies in the extractive sector and the governments of their host countries, so as to reduce poverty and promote the social-economic development of countries with extractive resources.

The European Commission is playing a leading role in the European effort to make our roads safer. In this way, institutions, associations and companies have the opportunity to share ideas and practices across Europe, so that all the bodies taking part can learn from each other and increase their knowledge of how risks on European roads can be avoided. We have been part of this initiative since 2005, and have signed the European Commission's road safety initiative, in order to reduce the number of traffic accidents and victims.

We are a member of Proteus, a project started in 2002 under the auspices of the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) and the World Conservation Monitoring Centre (WCMC). This initiative envisages a decentralised, simple and advanced system which enables the storage and management of information on protected areas, as well as reporting on trends in this field. All this while also conforming to best practices and enabling the simple integration of other information sources and user opinions.

The European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM®) is a non-profit organisation made up of member organisations and companies and was set up in 1988 by fourteen significant European companies to develop the European Excellence Model.
EFQM is owner of the EFQM Excellence Model (EFQM Model) and it manages the European Quality Awards.
Repsol YPF has been a member since 1996. We are actively involved in work groups with leading companies (Philips, Siemens, Bosch, Opel, etc).
Repsol has been a founding member of the FUNDIBEQ Trust and Executive Committee since 1999.
It was set up in order to promote Quality and Excellence in Management in the Latin American field.
It manages the Latin American award for Quality, which is handed over at the Latin American Summit for Heads of State and Government.

Member of the Club Excelencia en Gestión (Excellence in Management Club) Executive Committee since 1999.
The CEG hopes to become the reference forum for the best and most innovative management strategies, and to be recognised as an avant-garde entity, responding to criteria for continual improvement, excellence and sustainable development.
In conjunction with the CEG, Repsol organised the 2008 Open Days with the best results in its history.
The Club Excelencia en Gestión is the EFQM representative for Spain.

We are a member of the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA), an organisation founded in 1974 with the mission to develop and promote efficient and practical technical solutions that are socially and environmentally acceptable relative to the environmental and social aspects of the oil industry. We take an active part in various work groups of this association.

We form part of ARPEL (Regional Association for Oil and Natural Gas Companies in Latin America and the Carribean). This is an association to exchange ideas, experiences and knowledge. It is comprised of twenty-five companies in the natural gas and oil supply sectors in Latin America and the Caribbean. We take an active part in various work groups of this association.

We are a founding member of the Corporate Reputation Forum, founded in 2002 as a forum for the analysis and dissemination of corporate reputation trends, tools and models in business management. This forum for exchange is a reference point for developments in this subject matter.
