Repsol has been awarded the status of Best Spanish Company for Financial Information on the Internet at the eighth edition of the annual awards ceremony held by the Spanish Association of Accounting and Business Administration (AECA), in the category of Ibex-35 companies.
This is the fourth time that Repsol has been honoured by AECA, the previous occasiones being the 2005, 2006 and 2007 editions.
Repsol's Corporate Director for Communication and Chairman's Office, Begoña Elices, had the responsibility for receiving the award at the ceremony, which was presided over by the AECA Chairman, Leandro Cañibano.
The AECA Awards are organised annually by the Association's Commission for New Technologies, “in awareness of the importance that new technologies have in developing a more efficient information market and the effect they have on the correct allocation of financial resources”.
This edition presented the Awards in two categories, the first being for companies listed on the IBEX-35, in which Repsol was the winner, and the second dedicated to the remaining Spanish companies, who participated on a voluntary basis.
The Spanish Association for Accounting and Business Administration (AECA)
The Spanish Association for Accounting and Business Administration (AECA) was founded in 1979 with the aim of contributing to research development in Business Studies, as well as improving Spanish companies' information and management techniques.
It is Spain's only professional institution to issue generally accepted Principles and Rules for Accounting, also preparing studies and announcements on good practices in business management and the public sector.
