Repsol YPF

Repsol's biggest Technology Centre is found within the Community of Madrid (Spain).

It is designed according to the diverse range of activities currently undertaken there (exploration and production, refining, gas, chemicals...), the different phases of research and development projects, technological support (laboratory scales, microplants, pilot plants...) and the need to anticipate its future adaptation.

In order to carry out the required experimental work, the centre is fully equipped with:

• Laboratory equipment for the small-scale study of operations and processes. Microplants and pilot plants function as an intermediate stage on the way towards industrial-scale processes.
• Equipment for the chemical and structural analysis of products.
• Equipment for testing the physicochemical properties of oil products.
• Engine test beds and vehicle climatic chamber for studying the behaviour of fuels and lubricants.
• Equipment for studying the properties of polymers.
• Pilot machines for polymer conversion.
• Equipment for the characterization of catalysts and other solid materials.
