Repsol is involved in an integrated LNG project in Trinidad and Tobago, where together with BP, BG and other companies, it holds a stake in the Atlantic LNG liquefaction plant.
Its strategic geographical location enables it to supply the markets around the Atlantic (Europe, United States and the Caribbean) under advantageous economic conditions.
Repsol, together with Irving Oil, holds a stake in the Canaport project for the construction and operation of the first LNG regasification plant on Canada's east coast.
With a 75% stake, Repsol will be the operator of the plant and will supply LNG to the terminal corresponding to the total regasification capacity.
It is anticipated that the plant will become operational in the first half of 2009.
In Peru, the company is developing the integrated liquefied natural gas project "Peru LNG", one of the major initiatives foreseen in the Strategic Plan 2008-2012 and which, together with Canaport, is key to the growth of the company. Since 2005, Repsol has held a 20% stake in the project, in which it is partnered by Hunt Oil (50%), SK (20%) and Marubeni (10%).
