Gas Natural Fenosa

The operating profits of Gas Natural Fenosa, in which Repsol has a 30% stake, amounted to 887 million euros last year. This was a 0.7% increase on the figures achieved the previous year.

Investments in Gas Natural Fenosa reached 582 million euros for the distribution of gas and electricity.

Repsol currently owns 30% of the Gas Natural Fenosa Group.   The operating profit contributed by this company amounted to 887 million euros in 2011, 0.7% higher than results for the previous year, in which it contributed 881 million euros.

This trend is explained by improved electricity distribution activity in Spain and the greater wholesale gas marketing profit margins.

The performance highlights the bases of the Gas Natural Fenosa business model, based on the balance between regulated and free business in the gas and electricity markets, with a growing, diversified contribution made by its international presence.

Increased investments

Repsol's operating investments from its stake in Gas Natural Fenosa reached 582 million euros during the year, compared to 463 million in 2010. A large part of this money was allocated to regulated gas and electricity activities.

Spain continues to be the main destination for investment. Mexico and Colombia remain the main areas of investment in Latin America.
