The World Motorcycling Championship comes to an end this weekend, the setting is the atmospheric circuit of Ricardo Tormo filled with passionate fans that never disappoint. Dani Pedrosa has his sights set on a victory in Valencia, it is no coincidence that the Repsol rider is the one with the best record at the circuit of Cheste. Nicky Hayden, on the other hand wants to say farewell to the team with another podium finish.

Dani Pedrosa holds the record for the number of victories at the Ricardo Tormo circuit. The Spanish rider is the one who has won most times at this venue, with four wins in six participations, and he has only finished off the podium one time. More data: with his victory last year the Repsol rider has become the first to win in the three categories on this track.

The Spanish rider goes to the race in Valencia in good form and on a good run with ever improving results. With his adaptation to the new bike and new Bridgestone tyres well under way Pedrosa has managed to be on the second and third steps of the podium in recent races, but he now wants to be on the top step in front of his own fans at a circuit that he likes. “I am looking forward more than ever to Cheste if that is possible, above all because I want to end the season on the top of the podium in Valencia” he writes on his blog.

The other riders will not hand the victory to him on a plate. Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner, Nicky Hayden, Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso are some of the riders also hoping to be in the limelight at the end of the Valencian GP. But Pedrosa has a great record at Cheste, as he himself points out on his blog. Referring to the circuit, he explains that “It has a central zone that is very twisty, with a series of corners and it has a special type of asphalt. It is a medium-paced circuit. The track has many more left-handers than right-handers and so the tyre is harder on the left-hand side and the right-hand side is softer”.

The Valencian GP will also be were Nicky Hayden says farewell to the Repsol Honda Team. The American is having a good run in, getting better as the season comes to a close and he wishes to thank the whole team for the great work they have done together over the last few years with a podium finish at Cheste.
