Maverick Viñales, Miguel Oliveira and Alex Márquez continue with their intense pre-season work this week in Jerez. The Repsol riders` objective in these sessions is to get more experience on their new bikes. The good weather at the track near Cadiz is only spoilt by strong winds, something that is complicating their work.
Maverick Viñales has continued with the development work on the FTR, expressing his satisfaction at the end of the session during which he set a competitive pace. In the box occupied by Miguel Oliveira and Álex Márquez, the conclusions were just as positive, after having sought to adapt the setup on their Moto3 bikes to the characteristics of the Andalusian track.
The Portuguese rider did an intense day`s work, doing a total of 70 laps, stopping the clock at 1m.49.2. Álex Márquez was once again alongside him in the pits as replacement for the injured Álex Rins, and after doing 35 laps set a fastest time of 1m 50.6.
"The first day went quite positively. It was very windy but in general the conditions have been better than in Valencia, because the track was warmer and with more grip. We are pleased regarding the competitiveness of the chassis and we are going to carry on working on the engine. We have a good pace; we hope that tomorrow and Sunday we can carry on moving forward".
"We have got off these tests off to a good start. The sensations are better than last week in Cheste, we are close to our rivals. We are working along the right lines, we know what works well and what isn`t, so we have to carry on. Tomorrow we will test more things so that we improve the setup. Both the bike and I have room for improvement, so we have two days of hard work ahead of us in Jerez".
"The first sensations in Jerez have been positive, better than last week`s in Valencia. We still have two days of hard work ahead and we have to take advantage of them if we are to get a better bike".
